Turtle Farm

We felt fairly compelled to do a couple of things away from our condo during our trip, but to be honest there’s not a lot of activity to be had in Grand Cayman, outside of lounging and diving (which is exactly how we roll – well, the lounging part, not the diving). But we had the car and we had the kids, so we made our first ever trip to the Turtle Farm on the far west end of the island. It was well worth it, with the kids surprised by the massive size of the turtles and the adults surprised by the clean and pretty grounds (the property also has a small water park and other attractions, for those looking to make more of a day of it). With that said, I do believe it will be a “one and done” activity, particularly as the kids grow up and get more involved in things like snorkeling. And if they are like their parents, lounging.

DSC_7500_edited-1We stopped at this cute place on the way back to our condo for lunch on the beach.

Ella, right after she dropped her new stuffed turtle in the ocean, which immediately followed me warning her not to bring it on the beach in case she dropped it (which she insisted would never happen).

Reality Check. The kids’ favorite part of the day was the gift shop and getting the stuffed turtles. By a mile.

      Thanks Em! There will be plenty more – especially with the dreary Minnesota weather, I took advantage of capturing all of the bright colors and sun! Can’t wait until they arrive here! And yes, Miss Ella…she actually tried to convince us to go back and get another one. Thank goodness daddy didn’t cave. ( ;
