Nautical Returns

I suppose the nautical look is timeless in many ways, but there has been a heavy fashion emphasis on the style over the last few years, and the trend seems like it’s continuing with the early spring looks hitting the stores. I love that the style is holding strong, as it’s one of my favorite looks. Across the spectrum of my closet you’ll see clothes with navy and white stripes, from some of the oldest pieces (a Tory Burch dress that I treated myself to when I first started at the law firm ages ago) to the most recent – this sweater just purchased.

Reality Check. This is a random thing on which to comment, but I think that a button down shirt under a sweater is one of the best looks around. It’s put together and polished, yet has a casualness to it as well. I also think that it’s one of the most difficult combinations to wear. I’m always adjusting – the collar, the sleeves, the length – and I find it just generally uncomfortable.
