College Visit

The forecast for this past Saturday looked to be pretty fantastic, and since we weren’t headed to the cabin we thought we would take a drive to show the kids where their mommy and daddy went to college about a hundred years ago. Trevor and I both loved where we went to school, but we have made it back only on one or two occasions. The campus has changed a lot (as have we!) but its beauty remains. It was a perfect, pretty day and we seemed to have the grounds to ourselves. Trevor and I could walk around leisurely as the kids ran ahead to explore.

When I first mentioned to Trevor the idea of heading to our alma mater, I followed it up quickly with a promise to head to Hogan Brothers for lunch. A Saturday morning on the road may not be worth it for a walk around campus, but it’s certainly worth it for a delicious sandwich. They appear to have held on to their popularity, judging by the line out the door. Here is Ella in the booth as she patiently waited for the sandwich mom and dad had been talking about an abnormal amount during the day. Unfortunately for her we had to go the Ole Store instead, which had plenty of open seats and definitely not yummy sandwiches (the latter likely influencing the former).
